COMEDY
Kelfi & Fikel

^^

When: Wednesday 29th February
Where: Slide Cabaret, Bar, Events

Featuring at the Melbourne Comedy Festival 2012, Fiona Della Ca and Kellie Higgins are Kelfi & Fikel, an original comedy duo with their own uniquely twisted perspective on love, life, faux pas and the female anatomy. Gain a slightly strange social commentary on many aspects of life in Australia from teenage sexually active (or inactive) boys Kangaroo & Koala, amateur performers Polly & Molly, passionate & socially inept Home School mum with her adopted son, child prodigy Sammy, amiable yet fiercely competitive 1930s mothers, religious 'well meaning' dears from Ireland (or there about) to super villains Lenny and Schnash...just to name a few. Despite whatever profanities or obscenities might escape from their mouths, they are easy on the ear. So... if you are easily offended or a bit of a taut prude, we are sure you'll buttered up a little by the girls sweet voices to soften the blow. Hood winked! Ha-ha!

David O'Doherty is Looking Up

^^

When: Thursday 26th April
Where: Everest Theatre, Seymour Centre

David O'Doherty says originally this was going to be a really stupid show, but over the year a few things happened. I realized quite a few friends are really struggling in the crappy Irish recession. I also got punched in the face by someone for the second time in a year for no reason whatsoever. So I've decided to try and talk about these things. It will still be mostly stupid jokes, and songs played on a tiny keyboard, but also some things I think are quite important. In the past year I have been touring Ireland and the UK, Montreal, Melbourne and did my first solo shows in LA and New York and have performed with artists such as Flight of the Conchords and The Horne Section. I am delighted to return to Sydney to present my latest show.
