Jack River

^^

When: Friday 28th September
Where: Metro Theatre

I OH YOU is thrilled to reveal a fresh new offering from Jack River’s debut album with the stunning multi-dimensional ‘Limo Song’. Premiering overnight on triple j along with the effervescent accompanying video dropping simultaneously, ‘Limo Song’ will feature on Jack River’s debut album Sugar Mountain out on Friday 22 June via I OH YOU. In further exciting news, Jack River today reveals she’ll be taking her band on the road for her biggest national headline tour in support of the album. Hitting Adelaide, Melbourne, Perth, Newcastle, Sydney and Brisbane, the Sugar Mountain Tour will bring the album to life showcasing Jack River’s incredible knack for live performance in her biggest rooms to date. Jack River will follow up with sets at this year’s Splendour in the Grass, Yours & Owls Festival and will open the first show on Vance Joy’s tour in September. News of the Sugar Mountain Tour and festival dates comes fresh from Jack River’s recent debut shows across the UK at The Great Escape and Dot To Dot Festivals. Situated in a dreamscape laced with lingering darkness after unforeseen tragedy, ‘Limo Song’ amplifies the underlying heartache ever-present throughout each of Sugar Mountain’s tracks. While previous single ‘Ballroom’ pulses with defiant energy, ‘Limo Song’ is a tentatively outstretched hand, full of poignant yet unanswered questions. For Jack River, the track plugs into, “that melancholic dream world where you’re looking back and looking forwards all at once”. Delicate guitar lines are set beautifully against full-bodied bass, creating imagery of a rolling limousine guided by the wispy side of Jack River’s vocals which swirl to the fore.

Kesha

When: Thursday 11th October
Where: ICC Sydney

Kesha is bringing her critically acclaimed ‘Rainbow Tour’ to Australia in October 2018. The tour announcement follows a celebrated era for the artist, including her triumphant latest No. 1 album ‘RAINBOW,’ a completely sold-out North American headlining tour, and two recent GRAMMY nominations. Rolling Stone called Kesha’s live performances “one of the most positively uplifting, inclusive concert experiences available in 2017.” Backed by a live band and with her trademark swagger and playful snarl, Kesha will perform a set of her past global hits, her double platinum current single “Praying,” the new single “Learn To Let Go” and other songs from ‘RAINBOW’. “Once Kesha takes the stage, it's almost like she's the preacher ready to deliver one hell of an inspirational sermon - in the happiest, sparkliest church you'll ever witness.” - Billboard.

Judah Kelly

^^

When: Friday 19th October
Where: The Bridge Hotel

Emerging from the nationwide success of winning the 2017 series of The Voice and the release of his debut album Count On Me , Judah Kelly had a realisation that his next step would be a crucial one. Freed of the bright lights and intense scrutiny, Judah knew that his second album was a chance to establish an even stronger musical identity for himself and lay the groundwork for a career playing the music he loves. On Real Good Time he ’s comprehensively achieved that goal. Realising that he needed to lay the foundations for his post-Voice career, Judah set about listening to hundreds of potential songs for Real Good Time . Aware that his unique ability lies in singing and putting his own stamp on other writers ’ songs, Judah recalls “listening to lots of songs for hours and hours and waiting for the right ones to hit me .” That commitment has resulted in 13 tracks that run the gamut of human emotion via the heartache of country and the romance of soul music. From covering Vince Gill and Miley Cyrus on his debut, Judah has cast his net wider on Real Good Time , taking in the strutting honky tonk groove of the Chris Stapleton-penned ‘Ain ’t No Thing ’ and transforming Ian Moss ’ iconic ‘Tucker ’s Daughter ’ into a heady, bluesy, soul shakedown. The song ’s anthemic and infectious chorus will still incite mass sing-alongs but in Judah ’s hands the song is also musically recast in a new and irresistible light. Now it’s time for the public to hear the album LIVE as Judah takes to the road for a series of intimate shows with his band in tow. Fan’s can be treated to not just new material but a slew of Judah’s favourite covers and tracks from his debut album COUNT ON ME.

James

^^

When: Friday 16th November
Where:
Metro Theatre

After selling out their first ever trip to Australia in 2016, James are preparing for a triumphant return in 2018 with their ‘Living in Extraordinary Times Tour’. This time the band are sporting a brand-new album ‘Living in Extraordinary Times” as well as all their swag of British classics. With sell out shows, great reviews and mad fans, some travelling across Australia to ensure they didn’t miss a single show, a return visit was inevitable. The album seems to touch upon contemporary fissures in society, with Tim Booth commenting: “We knew something was up when Leicester city won the league then Brexit, then Trump. It is as if we'd slipped into an alternate reality, a Philip K Dick reality. We are living in extraordinary times.” The tour will visit Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth as well as taking James to Adelaide for the very first time. “Sometimes rounds off James's first ever Australian gig and there wouldn't be many in the audience who didn't feel privileged to be there.” - The Sydney Morning Herald. “As the band left the stage for the final time, they promised not to wait 35 years next time. Let’s hope they hold true to their word.” - Scenestr. “Australia has really been missing out. It’s taken 34 years for Manchester alt-rockers James to visit Australia, but they made it worth the wait.” - The West Australian.
